Privacy policy
Last updated 7 October 2026.
This policy explains what personal data Relei Studio handles for Portage: on this website, in the Portage WordPress plugin, and in Portage's sign-in service for Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive.
Who we are
Portage is made by Relei Studio LLC FZ, a company registered in the Meydan Free Zone, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (“Relei”, “we”). Write to support@relei.dev about anything in this policy.
This website
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising. It loads nothing from other companies: no fonts, scripts or tracking pixels.
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which receives your IP address and the details of each request in order to deliver and protect the site. Cloudflare handles that data under its own privacy policy. We add no tracking of our own.
Email to us
Mail sent to support@relei.dev or admin@relei.dev is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to a mailbox we keep with Google. We use what you send only to reply to you and to keep a record of the conversation, and we delete it once it is no longer needed for that.
The Portage plugin
Portage runs on your own WordPress server. Your backups, and any personal data of your site's visitors inside them, stay on your server and in the storage you connect. Relei never receives them.
Portage sends no usage data or telemetry to Relei. It contacts an outside service only after you choose to connect that service: a storage provider, or Portage's own sign-in. The plugin's readme lists every outside service and what Portage sends to it.
As the owner of your site, you decide what personal data your site holds and where its backups go.
Google Drive
What Portage asks Google for
Portage requests one permission, the drive.file scope: it can create files in your Google Drive and see, change and delete only the files it created. It cannot open, list or change any other file in your Drive. To keep that permission working, Google gives Portage an access token and a refresh token.
How Portage uses your Google data
Portage uses this access only to store, list, download and delete the backup files it created, inside a folder named Portage Backups, when you or a schedule you set asks it to.
Portage does not use Google user data for advertising, does not sell it, and does not use it to develop, improve or train artificial intelligence or machine learning models. Nobody at Relei reads it. It is transferred to others only where that is needed to provide this backup feature, to keep it secure, or to comply with the law.
Portage's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Where your tokens are kept
Your access and refresh tokens are stored on your WordPress site.
If you connect with your own Google app, tokens travel only between your site and Google. Relei is not involved.
If you connect with Portage's own sign-in, your tokens pass through Relei's sign-in service when you connect and each time the access token is renewed, because that service holds the app's secret that Google requires. The service exchanges the tokens with Google and passes them straight back to your site. It keeps no record of tokens, codes or connections. The refresh token it returns is sealed so that it works only through Relei's service and only for your site. Your backup files never pass through the service.
Disconnecting and deleting
- Disconnecting Google Drive in Portage removes the connection from your site. To be sure the tokens no longer work, also remove Portage's access in your Google Account.
- You can remove Portage's access at any time in your Google Account, under Third-party apps and services.
- Backup files stay in the Portage Backups folder of your Drive until Portage's retention settings or you delete them. You can delete them directly in Google Drive.
Dropbox and OneDrive
For Dropbox and OneDrive, Portage works only inside its own app folder. Relei's sign-in service only returns your browser to your site after you sign in. Your site exchanges and renews tokens directly with Dropbox or Microsoft, so those tokens never pass through Relei.
Our role and the basis we rely on
For this website and for email you send us, Relei decides how the data is used. We rely on our legitimate interest in running and protecting the site and in answering you.
For the sign-in service, Relei handles tokens on behalf of the site owner who connects a storage account, and only to carry out that connection. Before Portage's own sign-in is offered, we will publish a data processing agreement and a list of the companies that host the service on this site.
For the Portage plugin itself, Relei handles no personal data.
Where data is processed
Cloudflare and Google may process the data described here in countries other than yours, under their own safeguards for international transfers.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the EU and UK GDPR and the data protection law of the United Arab Emirates, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to take it elsewhere. Write to support@relei.dev to use any of these rights. You may also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
Portage and this website are not meant for children, and we do not knowingly collect children's personal data.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date at the top. If we change how Portage uses Google user data, we will say so on this page before the change applies.
